I just heard about
this last night on Television.
On WFTV and again
this morning, could not find it on their sites?
Katie Prior, a
15-year-old, is showing the
"Veterans
Administration and our government officials,"
How to respect our
deceased veterans
And she has been
doing so for a couple of years!
Oklahoma teen seeks
to aid vets funerals
For years, my group
of
Native Americans
watched veteran funerals
While waiting our
turn to show respect.
And
"Taps"
was played,
was played,
If you can call it
"Taps"
Cassette player
On a cheap battery
operated cassette player!
"As a Spiritual
leader,
Asked to care for
the loved one,
It is preferred to
allow any other religion
First
To help avoid any
possibility of
Adding to the
family’s grief."
Native American
Veterans have been complaining
to our media for
over 25 years,
on deaf ears!
Katie Prior, the
15-year-old founder of the
nonprofit Youth
Trumpets & Taps Corps sounds
"Taps"
in honor of
great-grandfather,
Wilford Foresee,
while visiting his grave
at Sunnylane
Cemetery in Del City.
When her
great-grandfather died five years ago, Katie Prior wasn't yet ready to use her
musical gifts to pay tribute to his World War II service with the Army's 63rd
Infantry Division.
