The
people of the northeastern part of native land
I write for a few reasons
I admit not all that well,
still I must write because of the promise to my ancestors
and
I lived in the land of the decedents!
Because
of my age, pushing 80 at the end of this month!
I
lived in the land of my ancestors along with many of my elders.
Because in my day
history was still a major part of the teaching
in grammar schools, junior and high schools
throughout New England.
I was helped to squeak through Junior and
high school because of a book report in junior and a thesis paper in high
school, both about my people and their past while living with them in the
present!
My Promise?
Keep my elders and the ancestor’s lives
alive in writing for their decedents reading?
