This needs to happen in every state and is a long time coming!

Minooka Marine gets honorable sendoff.

The Warrior Watch Riders organize events for servicemen and women who are either deploying or coming home.

The mission of the Warrior Watch Riders is to make sure servicemen and women know there are people supporting them before they go, during and when they get back home.

“This is to honor the soldiers coming and going to war zones because of the way men came home from Vietnam,” said ride coordinator Barb Fitzpatrick. “We don’t want them to come home or go feeling ashamed.”

Is a Friendship pipe used at a Wedding ceremony?

A question from today.
Native pipe wedding ceremony.
Or
Is a native pipe used at a wedding ceremony?
My answer to this question is a follow up from,
Is a Friendship pipe used at a Wedding ceremony?
Yes!
A Friendship pipe can, but does not need to be used however,
if the setting is for friendship, love, respect and or for family
like a wedding, funeral, birth and so on,
one should think about inviting your creator to all gatherings
including powwows and paw-paus.
Passing around a friendship pipe is just that, making and keeping friends.
Remember, one should never be forced to smoke.
A little love tap on the pipe with your left hand will draw respect
and
love from your creator and everyone involved
because of your knowledge of our traditions.

A prayer for any ceremony.

What is prayer?
A question asked on my Google blog today looking for a prayer to say at a ceremony.
prayers for ceremonies Tombstone Arizona United States.
A prayer for any ceremony around the world is always a good thing, a prayer said at a Native American ceremony if you are not a Spiritual leader is very simple however, the best thing ever at any ceremony.
First clear you mind of thinking fancy, in fact clean your mind period, open your heart and just talk with your creator, Creator is always by your side and will be glad to hear from you!
In your own words.

Florida State Mascot Upsets Native Americans In Oklahoma.

Oklahomans Native Americans (the Seminole Nation in Oklahoma), say they were too disgusted to watch because of the Florida State Mascot, Chief Osceola, and the use of Native American images.

If you think that is bad try being a retired to Florida Native American.

Every April 1st I receive email's from "Friends" with this Mascot doing some kind of a joke!

I tried to watch the game and root for their new coach however, I found myself rooting for Oklahoma, so I just went to bed.

How can we, the Native Americans in this country, demand respect from the non natives around the world while some clown rides on a horse dressed like a Hollywood movie Indian to stick a piece of wood into a football field?

One can get any male dog to go out and mark their territory!

Homes for our troops.

Homes for Our Troops builds house for wounded veterans.

Homes for Our Troops, started in 2004, has built fully accessible houses for seriously wounded veterans in most states in the nation.

The homes come at no expense to the veteran and rely heavily on volunteer labor and materials to cover what monetary donations do not.

We in this country need to find as many ways as we can to get the word out and help this group of people build homes and build them as fast as they can.

Please help.
