They don't understand
them, but they must control them.

Republicans introduced in the 112th Congress, House Resolution 3,

HR 3 eliminated
longstanding Medicaid funding for abortion for poor women in the case of rape
and incest and also attempted to redefine rape by limiting federal assistance
to instances of "forcible rape."
The very first bill
that Republicans introduced in the 112th Congress, HR 1,
went after federal
family planning funding and support for Planned Parenthood.
Colorado Reps. Cory
Gardner, Mike Coffman, Scott Tipton and Doug Lamborn all voted for HR 1.
Republican vice
presidential candidate Paul Ryan, along with Akin, Gardner, Lamborn and Coffman
— co-sponsored the original version of HR 3.
They apparently had no
objection to the "forcible rape" language.
