If you wish to win a
few billion souls to your belief
Matthew 22:37–40
comes to mind?
This posting
is not a joke;
I am 'Dead Serious!"
"Christianity" is still a puzzlement to a non-believer?"
Today I heard that
Tim Tebow, one of my sports heroes and a confessed Christian,
"Praise this
person called Donald Trump!"
And
So, as a Native
American
(Indigenous person),
I am confused.
I was taught that
one must be
'water baptized' and
confess the
belief in the cross,
did I miss something
of Donald Trump?
Matthew 22:37–40
And He said to him,
“‘you shall love the
Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your
mind.’
“This is the great
and foremost commandment.
“The second is like
it, ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
On these two
commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
The rest of this
post
is my trying to find
the true Christian? of today?
God/Messiah/Christian/Believer
This is not a
posting of
"Bible
Thumping!"
This is not about
"Teaching the
Bible!"
This is about a
Native American
living in the United
States,
trying to understand
just what a
Christian of this country is and why?
Please help me
to understand the modern Christian of today.
I am starting with
their god to end with a Believer.
God is
The ultimate Being
of beings, self-existent, eternal and unchangeable.
God is
Creator of the
entire universe and is able to manipulate matter, energy, space
Messiah
The mashiach will be
a great political leader descended from King David
(Jeremiah 23:5).
The mashiach is
often referred to as "mashiach ben David" (mashiach, son of David).
He will be
well-versed in Jewish law, and observant of its commandments
(Isaiah 11:2-5).
He will be a
charismatic leader, inspiring others to follow his example.
He will be a great
military leader, who will win battles for Israel.
He will be a great
judge, who makes righteous decisions
(Jeremiah 33:15).
But above all, he
will be a human being, not a god, demi-god or other supernatural being.
The term
"mashiach" literally means
"the anointed
one,"
and refers to the
ancient practice of anointing kings with oil when they took the throne.
The mashiach is the
one who will be anointed as king in the End of Days.
Traditional Jewish
concept of the messiah (moshiach):
what he will be
like, what he will do, what the messianic age will be like.
Christian
Hebrews 9:22
In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified
with blood.
For without the
shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
Sin is separation
from God.
We are the only
thing in the known universe with a free will: the ability to break natural
order.
The Bible says that
"The wages of
sin is death."
It says:
"The ten
commandments are written on the hearts of all man."
We know right from
wrong, but when we break the Ten Commandments, we separate ourselves from the
perfect order of the perfect God.
We become imperfect,
we die.
Christ was sent to
our earth to enlighten us on the reality of the human condition versus the Love
of God.
Christ was
sacrificed so that all of our sin is forgiven and literally forgotten by God.
God said
"I will forget
all sin."
We are to be broken
before God and made anew in Christ.
When we are reborn,
we are made perfect through the sacrifice of the perfect Christ.
Believer
Matthew
5:17-20English Standard Version (ESV)
Christ Came to
Fulfill the Law
17 “Do not think
that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish
them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth
pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is
accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these
commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the
kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great
in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds
that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 22:37–40
And He said to him,
“‘you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul,
and with all your mind.’
“This is the great
and foremost commandment.
“The second is like
it, ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
On these two
commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
