Solar
Located over the
preferred parking lot at the Winter Haven resort.
Legoland
and the
Tampa Electric company
are bringing my dream to a reality.
Back in 1986 I first
wrote about the use of parking lots, under power line, on top of buildings and
such.
A perfect place for
unused solar panels for power.
Solar power lines
can run well below the grid power lines
and
well above the ground.
The power companies
have been blocking such a sweet deal for years.
Description
The 1.8-megawatt
photovoltaic (PV) array,
scheduled for completion in December 2016,
will
produce enough electricity to power
approximately 200 homes.
And over 600 vehicle
It will be Tampa
Electric's first large-scale solar array in Polk County.
The
new system will join a
Tampa
Electric installed in 2014 atop the theme park's Imagination Zone, a large,
indoor attraction filled with hands-on activities for kids.
