Well my friend,
you
asked a real ‘point blank question.’
“What do I call a
real honest Cherokee Indian”?
So
I’m going to give
you,
my idea of a real point blank answer.
I have been to
thousands of Gatherings around this land.
My family started
taking me with them while I was still in diapers;
I’m 78 now and see
no reason why I shouldn’t be
taking family
members to gathering when I get old enough
to back into
diapers?
I have met my share
of “Cherokees”!
Some
pompous, some plastic, some casino, some artificial, some with a
holier-than-thou attitude,
and
I have even met some real.
.
A number of years
ago now
I met up with the Vermillion family.
JR. and Vealis never
looked down their nose at anyone or anything,
just on how quick that can be of
help, in other words
(Real Native
American)!
