Before retirement our family traveled the New England area and when asked to we would teach at schools about our people.

The first thing that a family member would say when it was our turn to speak after a prayer.
A prayer to Creator for a blessing for our gathering that day.

Please do not take one person as the only way that our people held our ceremonies and our culture get at least a second opinion.

We never wore our regalia while teaching for two main reasons.

Our Regalia are not costumes; 
they are what our ancestors used to keep safe from the weather, insects, branches and animals and so on, Clowns wear costumes, 
only 
‘non Native Americans’ 
wear regalia for show!

2nd

It was a great way to get curious students to start asking questions.

And

It was easier to pass our ancestors tools and regalia around the gathering while speaking

Why do I keep writing about Florida?


I was perfectly happy showing Donna all around

 ‘New England and New York’.
She was perfectly happy showing me 
‘West of the Mississippi river’.
Until one day, we got a call from relatives.

Her dad, a Korean/Vietnam veteran was in the V.A. in Florida.

Her mom was in a hospital in Florida and knowing their love for each other, we moved.

We did not know that we were moving from an area of the country 
controlled by its citizens (California/Connecticut).

To a state controlled by whatever ‘special interest group’ willing to spend the most money electing their politicians!

In Connecticut/California for instance, 
citizens vote for their choice to serve the state.

In Florida,
 the voting public is 
badgered and bruised 
with 
absurd boldface lies, half-truths and insane statements 24/7 
from election to election to election; 
this had been going on for over 20 years!

I and a number of other Floridians 
are doing our part 
at picking apart those, 
‘absurd boldface lies, half-truths and insane statements’
 with
 the ‘Proof of the ‘Truth’

Lately we have been getting help from the Florida Media
 however; 
even they cannot compete 
with the loose money fighting the truth!

Life just got a little fuller for me?


I just found out that I was living in New London while Senator John McCain, as a child, lived on Ocean Avenue while his father was at the New London Submarine base in Groton.


Although younger I went to a school one street up , a block away as the crow flies while my mother was caring for my grandmother.
My father worked at the New London Submarine base while Johns father was at the base!

Age 12-15

I delivered the 'Day newspaper' at that house, of course the McCain family was gone from Connecticut. 


New London Flies American Flag At Home Where Sen. McCain Lived As A Child

An American flag is flying at the New London residence where the late Sen. John McCain once lived as a young boy, according to city officials.

McCain spent some of his early years in the city — his father was in the Navy — and was a student at Harbor School, the city said.

According to a message posted on the city’s Facebook page Thursday, the flag was hoisted at the Ocean Avenue home by city workers who noticed the house didn’t have a flag and wanted to pay tribute to the senator, who died last Saturday at the age of 81.

McCain’s family lived in the New London house for a few years in the early 1940s, attending kindergarten and first grade, when his father was stationed at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, the senator wrote his memoir, “Faith of My Fathers.”

NEW LONDON, CT - The city of New London, Connecticut, has placed a U.S. flag on the home where late U.S. Sen. John McCain lived as a child.

City workers donated their time to install the flag with the current homeowner's permission.


The city on its Facebook page called the flag "a fitting tribute to an American hero who spent his formative years" in the city.


The Republican senator from Arizona attended the Harbor School for kindergarten and first grade when he was living in New London in the 1940s because his father was stationed at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton.

Of the many white supremacist organizations that have sprung up in the past few years, Atomwaffen is among the more extreme, espousing the overthrow of the U.S. government through acts of political violence and guerrilla warfare.
Journalists with ProPublica and Frontline gained insight into Atomwaffen’s ideology, aims and membership after obtaining seven months of messages from a confidential chat room used by the group’s members. The chat logs, as well as interviews with a former member, reveal Atomwaffen has attracted a mixture of young men — fans of fringe heavy metal music, a private investigator, firearms aficionados — living in more than 20 states.

What is the NVWG?


The National Veterans Wheelchair Games is co-presented between the Department of Veterans Affairs and Paralyzed Veterans of America. The Games serve Veterans with Spinal Cord Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Amputations and other central neurological impairments with the goal to increase their independence, healthy activity and quality of life through wheelchair sports and recreation. Veterans are being exposed to wheelchair sports at their home VAMC or PVA Chapters as part of their rehabilitation to improve function, independence and getting them active in their home communities in sport and fitness.
We are preparing to celebrate our 38th year in Orlando, Florida, July 30 – Aug 4, 2018. The Games move from city to city annually to take advantage of the opportunities that educate Veterans on accessibility, travel, adaptation, etc. Additionally, moving the event annually helps introduce the program to new Veterans, sponsors and partners for the VA and PVA. Over the years we have seen the benefit of these relationships that strengthen opportunities for Veteran services but also for the greater disabled community in that area for years afterward.
