American Indian naming ceremony?
This gives me a chance vent a little on
this oxymoron.
You
see, we have met many of the Government run tribal people in your area and EVERYONE
of them
hold up a White Plastic card and spend as much time as you will allow,
explaining that unless you are a full blood with permission from this European government,
you are not a Native American?
So,
if you are at a gathering in your area and the ceremony is for a native
American/ Indian, in their eyes that person is a half breed, so not to worry.
Indians come from India!
If
you are asking about a true Traditional American Native naming ceremony, then
if you wish to gift, give whatever your heart tells you.
If
you wish to gift the Spiritual leader, that person would be pleased to receive Herb
Tobacco ( Kinnick- Kinnick) because a good Spiritual Leader uses a lot of this
herbal mixture.
