This is what my
sisters, brother and I were told by my mom and my dad."
Mother (Kelly), you
have some Catholic Irish Blood running through your veins.
Father (Storey), you
have some Protestant Irish Blood running around in your body.
On one of my trips
while in the navy, to Ireland back in the early 60's,
I stopped at a pub
with a few of my shipmates.
Push came to shove,
so to speak,
when a patron of the
pub states that he could tell each of our heritages.
At my turn I stated
my mothers name.
"You have some
Catholic and from around Dublin."
O.K.
That was easy, let's
see this and I told him my father's name.
To my surprise he
said,
"Protestant from somewhere around Belfast!"
He even told me
about a Storey Castle that was destroyed long ago.
At no time with this
and the rest of my visits to this beautiful country
(Ireland),
(Ireland),
did anyone question
my Irish background, never?
So, what's the
difference between my statement and that of Elizabeth's?"
I am not running for
an office
against a
'Republican!"
Been there years
ago,
done that years ago,
and
won years ago!"
