Occult in Indian Country

Another question that has been showing up on my tracker
How did it get into our culture and ceremonies?
OK, let’s try another route while explaining how this (the first non native way to assimilation and extermination of my people).
The European Occult!
Remember, my friends, while I was being groomed by our elders, it was the 40′s, 50′s and 60′s.
Many times while at our meetings, the clan mothers would take up a collection to run across the street to buy bread, meat, cheese, if possible, and soft drink mix for a meal, because meeting would go on for hours and this small group was less then poor!
There was no connection to money so, non native’s never showed up at our meetings.
We would always teach our culture, ceremonies, drum and dance.
To the outsides this may have seemed a little strange?
We would hold at least one Paw ~ paus each moon (Month) plus weddings, funerals, birthdays, births, adoptions and more, because after all we are all family!
The flip side of this is and remember that I have never been invited to an Occult meeting.
I do know that the tribes up north, out west and the Europeans do enjoy some of the occult ways so, I guess people assume that all natives are of this occult?

and to my posting about my grandfathers prayer rock.
My people have prayer rocks, alters and such all over Uncasvillage, it is beyond me as to why so many people want a photo of this one?
I know why I love it the most, it was my grandfathers, fathers and now mine however, prayer rocks go back to the Mohegan's, Pequot's, Mohicans and beyond!
You are also welcome to the Images hope that you have given credit back to our people through this blog?

Adoption Ceremony?

Once again while going through my Visitor Tracker, I find that many of the visitors are still asking about our Adoption ceremony, so a little updating may be necessary about this also?
I just updated the pipe now for the Adoption ceremony?
As you may know by now my people go back long before first contact, I grew up around the New England area, the first place of this contact.
It was hard enough with all of the warring tribes from the north always invading looking for an easy was to live at the expense of other people, now we start getting invaded from the east by Europeans.
Each traditional tribe in the area needed to do something or become extinct!
While the friendship ceremony did except some into a tribe, battles were take our people much faster than giving birth.
Adoption!
This ceremony was agreed on and made long and hard because my ancestors knew that keeping the culture and ceremonies was far more important than just loading up the village!
The defeated enemy was allowed into the fort village, if they wish to stay however, the tribe needed to maintained the blood lines!
Enter the Clan Mother Adoption Ceremony, a way to teach and show the ceremonies and culture hands on, along with a sacred way of maintaining the blood line!
As explained earlier, after passing this called (13 Moon Clan Mother Adoption Ceremony) one was excepted as full blood!
