I CARE!

U.S. Navy veteran says he's gotten 'very little' from VA.

Clifford Bare, a 76-year-old retired U.S. Navy veteran served in the Pacific during both the Korean and Vietnam wars.

A veteran with no service-related injuries and with an annual income of $35,577 can be denied VA health benefits. The amount varies by state but it is about $35,000.

Bares' $25,000 annual income in below this, but his benefits are now jeopardized because the couple had to tap their savings to help cover Norma's hospital costs after being treated for cancer and a heart attack.

We gave the Navy the best years of my life and nobody seems to care -- until now."

U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont, has called on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to expand health care coverage to include all veterans regardless of income or whether they are wounded. Tester, a member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, has implored VA Secretary Eric Shinseki to immediately return Priority 8 veterans to the health care system.

"We put in our time," Bare said. "We dodged bullets. Does that make us less than the men who lost a leg?"

Special coins given to thank Native American veterans?

Special coins given to thank Native American veterans?

What a great idea, I wonder if this should spread throughout this country?

A military appreciation ceremony at the Onondaga Nation lacrosse arena Saturday demonstrated how powerful a thank-you can be.

75 Native American military veterans and 125 families of deceased native Americans were handed the coins inscribed with the words, “Thank you for your service.”

Do powwow's charge money at entry?

Question for the day.

Do all powwow's charge money at enter?

Today there are 3 basic groups of people having powwows.

(1)~ One's that are in it for the money, they need a lot of money to pay their dancers, just like a caravel or a circus they are fun to look at however, nothing traditional about them.

Almost all of them will not allow the public into their ARENA to dance.

(2)~ One's that are wannabes natives, just looking to cash into a casino or make money off the public, a few ways that you can tell them, they call a circle an arena, they have an arena director, they will have a cold gathering so they try to add a lot of color, also having nothing to do with traditional natives they just try to look alike.

They both ask for money!

(3)~ The third will be small and may even look like a pack of bag a bonds, they ask for a donation because they must pay the insurance, electricity, drummers, the MC and the cost to rent the land.

If you feel that you cannot afford a donation you are still welcome by creator and the tribe!

Real drummers and M C's will not charge, or charge very little for transportation, some are even a member of their tribe however, some must charge to help pay for their transportation because they do many gatherings.

It will have a circle with a fire some place on the grounds, usually in the circle with a fire keeper or someplace in the west.

This Fire keeper will be protecting this fire throughout the powwow however, will be trying to be inconspicuous.

Keeper at the gate (not an arena director) a servant to creator and the people charged with maintaining the circle with respect.

This keeper will help keep order and always willing to explain and answer your questions.

You will be blessed by letting yourself go with prayer to your creator, when asked to, get in the circle and let yourself shine, no one cares if you can dance, just always be respectful to your creator.

How to receive a Native American name, European and Spiritual.

How to receive a Native American name, European and Spiritual.

Before starting this blog please remember that it is not necessary to have any native name to be able to enjoy speaking with the creator of all creation!

That said let us begin.

I would first respectfully disagree with answers to this question that parents can choose native names for their children however, one can agree that there is a wide range of naming ceremonies from all over Indian country.

One should agree that asking an elder for help is a good idea, again one must be careful when going through a human, one must always turn this and all questions over to creator.

Many humans out in Indian country are in the naming business solely to make money off of your need to have a native name.

Before any ceremony, prayer is a requirement, then you and your elder/elders can go through a list of some name you believe most likely to fit you.

Time to once again pray, pray for help with what creator wishes, one you have chosen and/or one from creator.

Remember, creator will always choose your Spiritual name first, then give you a European name to fit that Spiritual one.

Prayer of thanks for creators kindness, understanding, and love for you and you names that should place your heart in the correct mood to speak with your creator, this should be the only reason for a need to receive a native name, never for show and tell!

I believe that natives should get into the habit of making and wearing a prayer pouch, this pouch (with your Spiritual name inside) will then remind natives you pass by to remember prayer.

Do not wait for your name, get in the habit of wearing your prayer pouch, not a medicine pouch, a prayer pouch!

If you try this with a phony name or a name from a phony person, or abuse your right to a Spiritual name, remember " Creator is always watching" so you are on your own and better repent!

Flashing your headlights.

Is flashing your headlights illegal or a free speech issue?

Flashing your headlights should be neither, because if you have passed a problem of some kind like an accident or something in the road behind you, you should warn oncoming traffic for safety.

If you are flashing your headlights because you have just passed a police check, shame on you, because you just did a very stupid thing!

The police are trying to save your life, they are looking for speeders, reckless, drunk and/or drug drivers, they need better laws to clamp down on cell phones and texting.

We just came back from a family reunion, we saw speeders recklessly hogging the road, we saw many drivers weaving from lane to land while on a cell phone (so many people need to express themselves with both hands to the cell phone while driving).

We also saw many drivers going down the road 65 or 70 while texting!

However, the winner of the biggest stupid prize, an old lady driving on RT # 75 at between 35 and 70 miles per hour while balancing her checkbook, we had to pass her because she would go from 35 to 70 and into three lanes, I looked over and could not believe my eyes, the statement was in her left hand on the wheel, her checkbook was in her right hand while on the wheel and the pen was in her mouth when we passed!

At any given time anyone of them may hurt or kill you or a love one because you flashed your headlights so that they could pass the police and go on the way to destruction!
