Horses are a non-native species

History of America's Wild Horses

A Native horse to New England and the rest of North America died between 13,000 to 11,000 years ago and it is believed that they came across from Asia with the Woolley Mammoth (mastodon).

The horses now in this area are imported from other country or from out west.

Wild horses are a non-native species

They are, however, a non-native species in all of North America.

My people, the original and only true Mohegan tribe ( there is one and only one traditional tribe), traveled on foot and did this traveling from Canada to Delaware and from the ocean to the Mississippi river.

To move or not to move that is the question?

By the time my people arrived in New England the buffalo were long gone, hunted to extinction.
The Plains Indians had an efferent way to follow their food supply and two seasons.
The Pequot/Mohegan people, with four seasons and many more choices for clothing and food supply would build a home (roundhouses) in areas for traveling to and from the food.
Because of the salt, less snow, and warmer waters at the shore they spent winters along the ocean.
As the weather changed they moved and built homes south and west.
Plains Indians had horses taken from the Spaniard's to help move their homes ( tepee’s) after the food supply, our people had man and dog power to help move their belongings.
In the winter was ice fishing and hunting.
In the spring and summer was fresh water fish and game.
In the fall was the time to start a move back to the ocean.
houses in each area were first come first owned with the understanding that everyone chipped in to help build new and repair the old homes.

Left hand in native American culture?

Native American culture in New England?

Left hand in native American culture?

New York, New Jersey as well as up and down the east coast are not now part of New England.

However, Native Americans know no borders, this is Indian country!

So, to answer the many questions coming to my blog about the use of the left hand.

Long before first contact native's in this country knew about the heart being more to the left side of the chest.

Through generations culture showed this in many of our ways, at least in a traditional tribe, the following are a few blogs that may help you understand, if not please remember, questions to these blogs will always be answered by Sachem.
