Native American pre marriage ceremonies

Welcome to the visitor from the City of Saint Louis Missouri

To a couple of my postings about pre wedding customs

Native American Wedding Ceremony (Traditional)

Native American pre marriage ceremonies

First, if I may be so bold, I must make a correction being spread across the internet?

The sites that you are reading are of my people along the East coast of Indian Country.

A Pre Marriage ceremony is not now nor has it ever been a practice of my relations across the Pequot river.

The New Pequot Nation.

As usual what goes on at all of our Sacred Ceremonies will never be written because of the phonies and wannabe's that steal and misuse for profit.

Goods, other than Kinnick, Kinnick are never be exchanged at a Sacred Ceremony, period!

It is true that my ancestors were first known as the Mohiingans and did use this practice however, it was lost until our ancestor Shechaim Unkas (Sachem Uncas) started it back up again as soon as he and his people crossed the river now known as the Thames.

The Pre Marriage ceremony as with all of our ceremonies originally came from Kiehtan our Creator.

We must remember that a Matriarch Society is built around total respect to our females.

A Patriarch society is built around the interests of man.

The pre marriage meetings for our people is not a requirement for marriage, it is a request from Kiehtan through the spiritual leader.

At this meeting the couple and any member of the soon to be wedding, will learn everything that will take place on that blessed day, the couple and any person directly involved will then know what is expected of them by Creator during the wedding.

The couple will learn where to stand and why, will learn about the regalia and why it is used and all of the sacred blessings from Kiehtan through your ancestors.

That said, please remember, whatever happens during the wedding will not be judged, after all it is a fun, loving, first day for the rest of your lives.

A Matriarch Society

Matriarchal is when women have control of a community.

Matriarchal societies do not mean that the women hold more power than the men. Inheritance and lineage does not equal power.

Matriarchal is the gravitating toward or centering on the mother.

Native American's were well known to have a matriarchal system.

Most early societies were organized around Matriarchal lines.

Women were the center of society, before agriculture, women generally raised children, cooked, gathered fruits, vegetables, etc.

Men hunted.

In this role, women were the first scientists.

They learned how to cultivate plants, and domesticate animals.

They learned methods of food preservation.

They learned how to build better home.

A Patriarch society

In a system based on patriarchy, not only the social system is male dominated.

As a rule, the government is male dominated as well.

The practical impact of a patriarchal system is that women are frequently considered second-class citizens and often exploited.

In a patriarchy, women are often not allowed to hold positions of power, vote, or own property, male-dominated societies can be found from cultures dating back thousands of years.

Just about all of the tribes up and down the east coast were of a Matriarchal societies.

It is sad to say that in modern time members of tribes of the Patriarch society have been allowed to take control of many older eastern tribes?

Converting native Americans?

Just in case you would like another reason why the first people of this land laugh at and are impossible to get to seriously listen to your pitch as to why your religion is the only religion?

This is not an attempt to question religion, be it little of me to question the Quran, Torah, Bible or any other book of religious beliefs.

My Creator refuses to allow me to judge however if I were to question.

I would question religious people like the ones in the following website below.

I also must question so many religious leaders interpretation of their book on their religion?

This is also the main reason why it is so hard to get religious leaders along with native leaders into a roundtable discussion at high schools and universities.

Each time that I was invited to sit at the table or become a member of the audience, one would notice that questions from the students to religious leaders tend to quickly turn into a lengthy discussion rather than answers?

The following website is a Christians views about the indigenous peoples of the land (first people).

Native American Religions

Native American Occult Religion 's Worldview of a Supreme Being ; Native American Occult Religion 's Worldview of Jesus

As I have stated in so many websites and postings, there still are thousand of tribes, both recognized and non recognized by this the conquering nation of religious people.

While it is true that, as with religious nations, tribes may differ in some on ways to spirituality (we are not an occult, only phony tribes believe in the occult) we all get there through prayer to our supreme being no matter what name a tribal member uses.

How.

Or should I say why does this make us heathens or an occult?

Is it because we refuse to except your floored interpretation of this Supreme Being?

Well, the true traditional spiritual believer's in Creator have watched your way and what happens to those that get in your religious way and want no part of your type of interpretation of your books.

Thank you for not asking but just trying to force your beliefs, but no thanks.

If we, the spiritual leaders were allowed by our Creator to judge you as you so often feel free to judge us, it would go something like this.

We watch the religious believers of the Quran kill everyone that does not except their way of interpretation of their Allah, sometimes by using themselves as the weapon?

Allah is a God of Love not death.

We watched through movies the killing of human, plants and animals in the past by the believers of the Torah.

Jehovah is the God of Love not death.

We watch today's abuse of little boys and girls and the insults, lies and murder committed by the believers of the bible.

Jesus Christ did not die on the cross so the a substitute could forgive the sins of priests or the people and your God is the God of Love.

We truly pray that you would consider becoming whatever you believe us to be and just obey (LOVE) Creator?

AHO (Amen).

Woman Regalia

I was not going to write about this one because the person did not leave a way to see just where the question came from it just said Unknown.

However, the question is a good one because it, once again points out my problem while writing about my people, the Eastern Woodland Tribes over on the East Coast of Indian Country.

If I do not keep up with correcting answers to important questions, who will?

If I do not keep up with correcting answers to important questions, the rest of our culture will soon be lost, we have already lost far too much as it is.

The question was Eastern Woodland Native American woman regalia?

Which to me means that this person is looking for information about our Regalia, more to the point our women.

I had to go through nine statements in their search engine about Indian clothing before I could point out the correct answer and even then Plains Indian cloth and non native cloth also showed up.

Is it any wonder why our non native friends are confused?

We did not wear Warriors Bonnet let alone with turkey feathers and we never had a Peace pipe?

The original peoples of the Eastern Woodland Tribes up and down the east coast when the invaders (Europeans) showed up lived around trees, a lot of trees.

Half of the seasons are cold seasons.

We did not have cloth, we had to make do as best we could and this meant Dear Skin, Moose Skin, Raccoon and other furs as they came available.

Our warriors, and women did not use turkey feathers, medal or plastic headdress.

This came much later and came from the west by Plains Indians and French traders.

Couple of my sites, I hope that you can find more?
