Last of the Cherokee-Shawnee Indians

Last of the Cherokee-Shawnee Indians

I cannot get my visitors from Korea to the main website of our people to understand that, although each fictional character in the fictional “Last of the Mohicans” are real people, each is acting the part and only acting!

Daniel Day Lewis did not hunt or kill a single Mohiigan Indian!

Sir Daniel Michael Blake Day-Lewis is an English actor who holds both British and Irish citizenship.

Born and raised in London
and is not a Native American!

Sachem Unkac (Uncas) did not die from any Indians!

Sachem Unkas lived a good healthy life and walked the crossing with the ancestor!

Russell Charles Means,
I am proud to call one of his friend,
was an Oglala Lakota!

Eric Schweig
is an Inuit
and
Ojibwe/Anishinaabe Indigenous

Canadian actor!

The capture and rescue of Jemima Boone and the Callaway girls is a famous incident in the colonial history of Kentucky.

They were captured by a Cherokee-Shawnee raiding party and rescued by Daniel Boone and his party, celebrated for their success.

The incident was portrayed in 19th-century literature and paintings:

Created a fictionalized version of the episode in his novel

The incident was the subject of a painting entitled

The Abduction of Boone's Daughter by the Indians (c. 1855)

by

Abduction of Boone's Daughter, 1855-56, detail, Amon Carter Museum of American Art

He is known for an early painting of a colonial incident:

his The Abduction of Boone's Daughter by the Indians (1855-1856), a depiction of the 1776 capture near Boonesborough, Kentucky of Jemima Boone and two other girls by a Cherokee-Shawnee raiding party.

Montréal, Quebec/Gatineau, Quebec

Thank you to both visitors from Quebec Canada.

You both
reminded me
of a few facts about our people,
ours and some of yours.

According to my elders now ancestors and some records out on the internet for all to read.

While I was growing up in Uncasvillage and learning from elders throughout Northern Native American Country, back when our ancestors were being abused

(putting it politely)!

Many of our people escaped out west and many escaped north to and around Quebec Canada!

Red is the color of all blood of the heart and all male, female, races, religion, sexual orientation and even the politicians in government pump ‘Red Blood’!

This is why our military go to war, to protect our people of Red Blood!

Cigarettes cause Cancer!

Our ancestors used Herbs (Kinnick-Kinnick), No poison cigarettes!

All Smudging in the ceremonies of our ancestors were and still are a prayer to Creator, at least throughout Native American Country!

It is now 2018 and now living in Florida retired, if I were to add to this post, I would like to say, the culture, ceremonies and information comes from the teaching of my elders, now ancestors.

It might not seem too many outsiders (people not from tribes in Native American Country, born or adopted, that the use of occult wording is much of a big deal?

‘Well ‘

We are the children of Creator and to Creator; this is a very big deal.

Now carrying or the use of photo taking, at least in a ‘Sacred Circle’ in a belief of elders and out of respect, we frown on abuser.

The teaching of our ancestors from any Sacred Circle comes directly from our Sacred Paw-Paus, all other gatherings  are not.

We know that times are changing and clothing’s are getting smaller.

However, we always invite Creator to dance along with us, how would you be dressed arm and arm with your deity?

First blessings from Creator we hope that you found answers to any questions you might have?

Because our sites are mainly a way of keeping our ancestors thoughts, culture and ceremonies alive to our people and visitors like you.

Please take into consideration the distance from our ancestors to ancestors of the tribes in and around your state?

Because of the distance back then
( in my case the 1940s and on to our first leader, Shechaim Ohjieshan Unkas).

So

As you must see, ceremonies, I am sure, might differ from time to time?
