Smudging before entering the circle

Welcome to my visitor from

Orono Maine

Looking of information about smudging before entering the circle.

To one of my many websites and blogs about smudging.

As you might feel by now, smudging is almost being written to death.

Smudging the correct way

However, if you have ever been to my trackers you would see that questions keep coming and many answers keep getting it wrong.

We must not forget that smudging, as beautiful and important as it might be, is still just another form of prayer to our Supreme Being, Kiehtan (Creator) for something?

We have been in your town many time with my Uncle Russ (Chief Rolling Thunder) on the way to his reservation.

One of our many trips.

I spent time in town while on our way to Clan Mother Nettie Smith's Crossing Ceremony some years ago now.

Orono is a town in Penobscot County, Maine, United States.

It was first settled in 1774 and named in honor of Chief Joseph Orono of the Penobscot Nation.

It is home to The University of Maine.

Smudging the correct way

Again, remember prayers as with this smudging, are our way to get us in a place where we try to blank out the world for a talk with our Supreme Being, no matter what God we might be on our knees before?

The original powwows before first contact (Paw-paus) were always off to the west away from distractions with room to do our smudging, in those days smudging was with Kinnick - Kinnick Herbs, our tobacco.

Traditional Native American Family

Welcome to a visitor from Highland Indiana

To my postings at

Looking for

What is a Traditional Native American Family?

There is no such thing.

We can have a traditional dance, powwow, paw-paus, ceremony, dress, and so on, however each tribe throughout Indian county has their own type of traditional culture .

So they have their own 'traditional families'?

If I were to make a guess and only a guess because your state is now a milting pot in Indian country, I would guess that you should be looking into my brothers and sisters of the great Shawnee people?

Been there done that, great people!

Having a little problem finding Unkas.com?

Having a little problem finding Unkas.com?

 Welcome to my visitor from

Seattle Washington

Sorry to see that you did not make it to one of the correct sites? http://sachemspeaks.wordpress.com/who-is-sachem-uncas/

Looking for Unkas

You ended up at this one?

I can see why one would have a problem finding anything about the greatest Native American Sachem of recorded time, my opinion my blog, one must go through so much junk uncas's and/or junk sachem's and still may not find the truth?

I just wrote about this the other day.

( She-Chaim Unkas)

If you think that it was hard for you, think about how all of the ancestors feel.

For instance, a school named for him and his kindness to the area for years was changed to a green lizard soon after the casino Indians came to town!

For years it was our true tribal flag!

Many of his royal family came for a teaching social gathering with the children, dear I ask how many times lately?

The link

will no longer take you any place helpful unless you are extremely tenacious?

Why you may ask?

Can't have any Sachems or Uncas around that area for long.

What gift for native American elder

Welcome to the cities of Plymouth Minnesota

New Port Richey Florida

To my posting about gifting, this time the question is a memorable one asked often about gifting to an elder.

To my blogs

and

This question I am pleased to say, as with most of my postings and websites, cannot be asked too many times, because the more it is asked the more often it gets out on the internet for all to see and/or challenge.

Also, the question is a good one and the answer is a simple one because simplicity is the name of the game while writing about the truth?

As with all of my writings about our tobacco, I start with this.

First thing to remember about our tobacco, it was, it is, and should always be, herbs (Kinnick Kinnick) not a chemical treated cigarettes!

While offering a cigarette, please remember, it is an insult to a Traditional if that person is a Non Smoker!

A person handing this herb will usually have it wrapped in something for a convenience to the elder, not always but, if it is wrapped, red would be the preferred color of the wrap,

(RED IS THE COLOR of the HEART BLOOD).

Also, by using your left hand to his/her left hand, shows true respect and knowledge to the elder.

Each time a native person uses a traditional elder way an ancestor sheds a tear of joy.

Shechaim

What is a Shechaim

Because of so many people, places, and things using an ancient Algonquian word and using it incorrectly, and after many months of prayer I must now violate a long standing commitment to the elders only with permission of the ancestors, the correct spelling of a royal name well known as Sachem Uncas is better known to my people as ( She-Chaim Unkas).

sachem on Line, sachem school, sagamore, sachem Inc, chief, sachem ny patch, narragansett sachem, sachem yacht club, sachem east, sachem community and on and on?

Many of you have seen or heard about a fictional film from a fictional book written about the so called French/Indian War, written by one of my relations and the grandson of a royal family member, "The Last of the Mohicans"?

As you know I have slammed this book/movie/ many times because of the many inaccurate insinuations and liberties taken throughout the book and the film.

What you do not know is a little known fact conveniently placed toward the ending, as in the real name for our royal leaders throughout the Eastern parts of Indian country?

Sachem or correctly pronounced as ( She-Chaim) Tamenund, the Delaware Tribal Supreme Leader at the time of the French/Indian War (correctly known to my people as the English/French War on our land).

Every known true traditional tribe throughout the east side of the Mississippi should have known about this inaccurate spelling by the English and my ancestors have grown tired of the wait for their correction?

Also of interest in today's society is the right and left hands of this She-Chaim.

Sa´chem`dum~ The jurisdiction of a Sachem ( She-Chaim) in other words any counsel such as Clans, Chiefs, Warrior, and Elders.

Side note of interest, the first time a friend (Shawnee mixed) asked for me to sit to watch this film on TV, when it came to the leader of the great tribe of the Delaware, she stopped, reversed the film and questioned the pronunciation, why couldn't the leaders of so many modern 'nations' do the same?
