Prayer in prisons.

Native American Spirituality involves prayer to Creator.
Our Spirituality (church) revolves around a circle, this circle has a fire someplace at the gathering, sweat lodge, Alter, or other.
Fire allows us to keep our mind and heart on Creator.
Prisons cannot nor should they allow fire.
Therefore, if a Native American, for whatever the reason, finds themselves incarcerated, they need to compromise.
The prisons, knowing that they have Native Americans should in all fairness also be willing to compromise.
After spending many hours counseling inmates soon to be released, it is clear that most have at least one room for prayer.
Native Americans know that the first thing gifted to their ancestors was herbs (Kinnick-Kinnick).
So, we should be willing to hold prayer, sweat lodge, or any Spiritual gathering in a room using this sacred herb in place of a fire.
If no spiritual leader is available, fresh herbs offered will be heard by our Creator.
The only point we all must keep in mind is, not the equipment used for prayer to know Creators love, it is the prayer that opens the line of communication and this love.

Take back your Mother!

Did you know that none of the politicians back in the 1970's in the New England states were Native Americans?
Some of the politicians in New England wish to see our people get some rights long overdue, some politicians just wanted to find a way to end our court battles or just did not care however, as usual, most of the politicians had other interest!
If a betting person I'd be willing to bet that this is how it went throughout Indian country.
Be that as it may, we now have America and the world believing that only people with a government passport ( a little plastic card) are allowed to be called Indian!
Indigenous people of Indian country, did you know that for every casino Indian there are at least 50 real American natives, Black, Red, yellow, brown and even some that look White.
If some of your ancestors were in this country before first contact, it should not matter as to how or why the casino Indians sold out, you are still an American Native and it is way past the time for you to stand up and be counted!
If you belong to a tribe, unite them.
If you do not but know that you have native blood, no matter how much, join one.
If you are not sure ask someone.
Get involved with helping to get all Indigenous people on our land ( Mother Earth) together as one people under Creator.
We need a few billion American natives marching on all of our capitals and we need this now.
Take back your ancestors and your Mother!

If the European American government tells a Native American tribe that they cannot be recognized as a tribe, that tribe needs to unite together, elect your people to an office each election in one village, town, city, county and state at a time!
Then you get to make the rules!

THE FOUR SACRED CORNERS. (Shehukte Kina Konacya).

Four Directions (Shehukte Kina kihouk) is not the same as four corners, four directions is speaking about a balance of good and evil being controlled by Mother Earth.
A question was asked of me so, because I use the words "Sacred Four Corners", I need to explain.
Please keep in mind that we have never and will never go into the many sacred ceremonies in writings because they are our Sacred Ceremonies.
Everything in an American Native's ( Native American) culture is with the circle of life or within a circle, Mother Earth, Powwow circle, Paw~ paus circle, Fire circle, Prayer circle, even our Alters are in a circle.
Then why would we be speaking about corners?
In the Eastern Woodland Culture ( my people),
Corners is speaking about our people in these circles at our Sacred Ceremonies, Naming, Funeral, 13 Moon, wedding and so on.
Head tribal leader, sometimes called Head Clan Mother, chooses her three, if she is involved, or four if she wishes to be teaching her younger females, these Clan Mothers sit in the four directions with in a Sacred Circle during special ceremonies.
Herbs in a circle are being used by my people.
Herb type tobacco is the first plant that the Creator gave to the people.
It is the leader of all the plant life.
Sage, Cedar and Sweet grass, follow this tobacco (Kinnick~Kinnick) and together this is the four sacred corners (medicines).
The sacred medicines are used in everyday life along with our ceremonies.
Kinnick~ Kinnick is always at the east gate because the east is always first in ceremonies, sweet grass in the south gate because it is mild, quiet and calm, sage in the west strong in control watching for our safety and cedar in the north because our people live in the northern most part of Indian country.

Sacred Naming Ceremony Protocol.

If you are looking for an Indian name look into an India blog.

If you are looking for information about Native Americans, this is one of many blogs.

Please enjoy reading the information.

Why do we have a naming ceremony?

Well?

Why do Christians have baptisms?

Our naming ceremonies are our way to introduce a person to Creator.

If accepted, Creator will name this person this is why all of our ceremonies are so sacred!

This is also why traditional elders and spiritual leaders get so unset when they hear,

"I just came from so and so and he/she gave me my Indian name!"

It will take at least two weeks before a person hears that Creator has given you your tribal name,

Not because Creator is, busy,

But because Creator will wait for you to humble yourself enough before the people to get that name!

My PEOPLE,

" WE NEED TO TAKE BACK OUR OWN ANCESTORS, NOW "!

I have stated many times before in blogs and websites that I have nothing for or against any religion, this includes Witchcraft,

I have many good friends in most of these religions, that is until that religion tries to change our culture

and/or our ceremonies,

if this is tried, it becomes personal!

My first encounter with people that worship another god.

The Eastern Woodland Sacred Creator Blessed Pawpaus.

At a naming ceremony or any other Traditional Eastern Woodland Ceremony for that matter,

a Spiritual leader will ask the couple if they wish a Sacred Pawpaus Creator included ceremony.

If, after explaining what that entails the couple say yes, from that point on preparations are being made, for this type of a ceremony.

It no longer matters where or when it takes place, it is a Sacred ceremony that will be blessed by Creator!

When it comes time for the couple to pick their four corners

( four tribal clan mothers)

and all other members of the gathering, the Spiritual leader will once again remind and explain to all that this is

an Sacred Eastern Woodland Pawpaus ceremony.

Because of this it does not matter how a Witch, Warlock, Sorcerer, powwow, or any tribe performs a ceremony,

this is a Pawpaus,

if you have a problem please help the couple find your replacement.

If after the ceremony starts one or more of the corners walks away, they then show their true beliefs in their (God).

I have been able to call out many a phony because of this!

First and the most important thing would be to make sure that you are an American native,

or correctly adopted,

to find this out contact a Traditional an elder.

The traditional way to make a request to receive your American Native name is to give a gift of herbs

(Kinnick--Kinnick).

Tobacco, Herbs, Kinnick-Kinnick

)

as the request is made to the person you are requesting the name from

( Spiritual leader) if it is a Pawpaus.

You and your family may also wish to plan a meal to celebrate after the ceremony is completed.

If others are receiving their names, the covered dishes, should be shared.

Present a gift of herbs from your left hand to the left hand of the individual you are wishing to receive a name from,

this is called, heart to heart.

This person should be a person you respect and should be someone who is an American Native elder

from the nation that you are requesting a name if possiable.

Personally ask if you may make a request of this person, either in person, by phone, e-mail or other.

Receive this individual's consent to allow you to make a request.

At this time you may wish to honor a male and a female with this herb

and request that they stand with you as sponsors at the ceremony.

These should be individuals that are familiar with that American Native Tribe

and this sacred ceremony.

A naming ceremony should, but not always, be held in a prayer circle.

A Sacred Pawpaus is always held in a Sacred circle with a fire, both of which must be properly prepared.

(Honor the prayer circle with appropriate attire and attitudes).

Regalia should be worn if available, if not proper dress.

Give thanks to the Creator and all the sponsors.

One should NEVER have to pay for any American Native gift;

If you do ,the gift will be void, and so will the ceremony!

Remember, our Creator gave the gifts freely and so should we,

a gift like herbs or something native is permitted, and any gift can be permitted as long as it is freely given!

Please remember, there is nothing sacred about any chemical,

they are all poison so, what you would be saying if gifting tobacco to this person is, I poison you!

Herbs, Kinnick Kinnick.

What is Kinnick~ Kinnick?
My tracker lit up with questions about what is this strange herb?
There are many attempts to explain it however, why is it so hard to understand?
A few tribes may use Bearberries, Sage or Sweet Grass however, the herbs are up to you.
First, Kinnick~ Kinnick is not an herb, it is many herbs.
The correct answer to me from my elders now ancestors, the Eastern Woodland New England Traditional American Native people is, this set of herbs are found in and around your area in wooded land, carefully cared for by  the Tribal Clan Mothers for use by the Tribal Grandfathers in ceremonies.
If you wish to have your own Kinnick~ Kinnick found by you for your own use (free) just write to me for more information!
walkingfox at centurylink.net

Please remember, there is nothing sacred about any chemical, they are all poison so, what you would be saying if gifting tobacco to this person is, I poison you!

My ancestors were simple common sense people.

Their tobacco was grown without chemicals, the ancestors did not need them!

Today our elders know that cigarettes cause cancer, even if they smoke, someone that they know and love has died a horrible death from this cancer.

Please do not insult them by an offering of a cancer causing cigarette.

Will you please use Kinnick~ Kinnick (herbs)?
