Marriage of Native American Medicine Men?

Medicine man, Clan leader, Clan Mother, Sachem

Medicine man/Medicine women

Just to name a few.

I traveled Indian Country for many, many years, even was invited to a burial ceremony in Arizona twice.

Once because we could not find my blood brothers bones in Vietnam, once because they found them.

I have never been to a traditional tribe where a Medicine man/Medicine women needed a license for doing the work of our Creator?

We usually waited for Creators Blessing, after many years of training.

Apology ceremony Native American

Welcome Surrey British Columbia Canada

To one of our websites looking for

Native American Apology Ceremony

There are a number of Apology Ceremonies in the Mohiigan Tribe, the above posting is the last one that I wrote about, I am not sure if it helped you or not?

I also am not an expert in tribes in your country or their ceremonies, did you try asking tribes in or around Surry?

One other example of the many Apology Ceremonies.

In the 80's and 90's of the "Great Uncasvillage Gold Rush!"

When tribal members left my grandfathers meeting hoping to reap some of the rewards from the 'Government Controlled Indians', were removed of their paperwork and knowledge and soon after dumped out onto the streets, some left for up north, some west and many came back.

If they came back and asked, did not give knowledge in the Whiteman's court, plus did not hand over tribal papers, they were allowed to walk the Circle of Forgiveness.

If you write as to why the need for the apology we might better at helping?

Welcome to our little corner of the world as far from your beautiful town as one can get and still be in Indian Country, the USA.

It looks like you came directly to this site?

The Story of the Teardrop

So, just in case, remember that tribes, especially this far apart will have some if not all, different ceremonies and culture?

For instance, many tribes around your state call the ceremony, "A Dream Catcher!"

Most are now made in factories and this country has few if any factories.

They are round with pretty colors.

Ours are in the shape of a tear Drop and we, at least the traditionalist, try to stick with bird of prey feathers?

That said, the idea and the ceremony is the only thing that really matters?

To help children sleep a little more peaceful.

Thank-you Spider Women!

It is always a blessing to receive questions and comments from friends near and far, thank-you for your visit.

May the your Creator bless you all the days of your life.

I am not writing your comment and in fact I removed it!

Because your language is not allowed on our websites or blogs.

O.K.

Let's get down to the Nitty Gritty of your comment?

In 1986 I committed myself to a promise to my father just before his crossing.

Crossing ceremony, just in case you do not know this ceremony either,
is a passage ceremony, his trip to be with his Creator.

"I promised to turn my back (Another ceremony), on all gaming!"

I have and will continue to honor my promise because he is now with our ancestors.

Remember that my promise to my grandfather is only for 'Bingo'
because there were no casinos at the time.

So, to answer your , question,
I have no idea what your

"Government Controlled Wannabe Indians"

do for ceremonies or if there is a

"Traditional Elder"

on site for direction.
I can only follow the wisdom of our ancestors?

I'm talking 61 years of their teaching!

The rest of my 75 years (that’s 14 to you), I have been trying to teach their teaching.

So, if you have never been to a ceremony the likes of what I have been writing about.
I believe that you are jumping on the wrong set of moccasins?

Blessing to you and yours from Kiehtan (Your Creator).

Comments are always welcome

I receiver a comment on my posting about weddings, a very good comment because it was able to stimulate my brain, a real challenge lately?

http://mysmudgingblog.blogspot.com/2015/09/native-american-wedding-ceremony.html

As you know, most weddings are set for a day, many lasting into the night.

The new couple heads out for their "Honeymoon!"

The families and friends eat, drink, dance and get acquainted or re-acquainted.

This is great and as it should be.

Then life goes on and this is also as it should be?

My good friend reminded me of this and the fact that many tribes, our tribe included (Mohiigan's), wedding ceremonies could be a year or more in the planning, or much less, it is up to the couple and the Spiritual Leader.

There could be many supper gatherings (a time to socialize and make the plans),before and/or after.

However, the actual ceremony is with Creator, spiritual leader and the couple,
notice the no capital letters with the exception of Creator, with friends and family gathered around.

This usually however, again it is up to the couple, starts at sunrise or sunset outside weather permitting.

Because it is, as with all ceremonies, a Sacred Spiritual Prey for unity between the couple and their Creator.

The only gifting is on the day or night of the ceremony and is

"A Blessing from Creator to the couple and all present at the ceremony."

Gifting including Kinnick-Kinnick, takes place in the supper gathering or gatherings.

The honeymoon is up to the couple.

However, their first anniversary and the next (12 Months), 13 altogether are also of a ceremony anniversary.

Sort of a re-marriage of their love and commitment to Creator and one another?

Thank-you for your comment my friend! <3
