London, Ontario, Canada

Welcome London, Ontario, Canada
Tobacco (Herbs) as a Traditional Native American Gift.
4/8/11

I am not sure is you know that, in spite of the distance from London Ontario to Uncasvillage USA, natives (the first people of the area, could still be related.

First

Our people came from
the Great Lakes Area.

Second

Our people were forced to leave our land over on the east coast in and around Uncasvillage because of the brutal treatment from the invading intruded from the east.

Tobacco (Herbs) as a Traditional Native American Gift.
That said, Tobacco (Kinnick Kinnick), might be gifted the same in both areas.

"Tobacco

(Herbs)

as a

Traditional Native American

Gift.

Because tobacco seems to be one of the most asked questions, I will write about this today.

Please understand that when talking about Traditional Tobacco Gift,

I write only as a traditionalist,

Therefore, tobacco is Kinnick - Kinnick (Herbs),

Tobacco no one would ever enjoy smoking.

A tobacco plant is an organic herb and always included into Kinnick - Kinnick before any type of chemical is used on it before or after picking.

Please also remember, there is nothing sacred about any chemical, they are all poison so, what you would be saying if gifting just a cigarettes as tobacco to this person is, have some poison!

Tobacco that is used in our pipe ceremonies and as a gift is called Kinnick - Kinnick.

At no time will a Traditional Native American encourage smoking non-native tobacco poisoned by chemicals, we use organic herbs only!

This herb can be found almost anywhere around your area for free.

If it is native to your area, natives in your area used it as their tobacco, Kinnick - Kinnick.

Sacred Kinnick - Kinnick should never be sold so make sure that no one tells you that it has been blessed and then tries to sell it to you are just trying to get more money out of you!

On Friday February 4, 2011 on this blog, I wrote, "Tobacco should only be used as a gift"

Eastern Woodland American Native Tobacco as a gift offering to Creator in prayer.

How and when to present a gift of tobacco to a Traditional American native? Any and every time that one wishes to speak with an elder and/or honor an elder, it should be by American native tobacco (Kinnick - Kinnick) gift.

How much is enough tobacco to present as a gift?

How much is not as important as how one gives the gift. First, make sure that the tobacco is Eastern Woodland herb, Kinnick - Kinnick, and then remind the receiver that this gift came from Mother Earth.

Because it did come from Mother Earth, it would be nice if it were wrapped in red, why red. Red represents women or Mother Earth.

What is American Native Kinnick - Kinnick?

Kinnick - Kinnick is herbs collected from Mother Earth with prayer of thanks to Creator and Mother Earth!

Do not believe an outsider from another tribe telling you that we all must use their tobacco, their way; this is the way of our people. AHO.

One does not almost hand our tobacco to an elder, because we are standing for an answer from an elder, that tobacco now belongs to elder."

Tobacco (Herbs) as a Traditional Native American Gift.

Because tobacco seems to be one of the most asked questions,
I will write about this today.

Please understand that when talking about
‘Traditional Tobacco Gift’,

Remember
‘Native American covers from the North Pole to the South Pole, from the ocean to
the Mississippi river’.
I write only as a traditionalist, from an Eastern Woodland Native American People.
However, if you feel that this information fits your area, it is free to use.
Also remember ‘If you are gifting something from Mother Earth’.
“Please remember that Creator gifted it to Mother Earth for free and Mother Earth gifted it to you for free”?
Therefore, tobacco is Kinnick - Kinnick (Herbs), Tobacco no one would ever enjoy smoking.
A tobacco plant is an organic herb and always included into Kinnick - Kinnick before any type of chemical is used on it ‘before or after’ picking.
Please also remember, there is nothing sacred about any chemical, they are all poison.
So, what you would be saying if gifting just cigarettes as tobacco to this person is “I am about to poison you”!
Tobacco that is used in our pipe ceremonies and as a gift is called Kinnick – Kinnick’ (Herbs).
At no time will a Traditional Native American encourage smoking non native tobacco, (poisoned by chemicals), “we use organic herbs only”!
This herb can be found almost anywhere around your area for free.
‘If it is native to your area used it as tobacco, Kinnick – Kinnick’.
(Sacred Kinnick – Kinnick), should never be sold, so make sure that no one tells you that it has been blessed and then tries to sell it to you, anyone doing this (is just trying to get money out of you)!

Red represents women or Mother Earth. What is American Native Kinnick - Kinnick?

Gift the tobacco and step back, wait for directions from the elder because that tobacco now belongs to elder.

Can one eat the herb kinnick, kinnick?

Sheffield, Sheffield United Kingdom

AQUINE (Peace to you)

Welcome to the visitor to my teaching blog posting looking for, can you eat kinnick, kinnick herb?

My answer is NO/YES

One should never eat things that you do not know about however, if you are on a herb hunting trip with one of our clan mothers, or if you receive a gift from one of our elders then yes, because most of our Kinnick, Kinnick are herbs many people eat every day and this elder will be glad to answer all of your questions.

WE are pleased to be able to teach as much as possible about our traditional ancestors.

As you may or may not see while traveling around the internet, some teaching about our people will not compute with what the elders taught as the truth.

Many times often being taught by non native people or someone not from our tribe!

Please remember that if you have questions about our websites and blogs we can answer you at

sachemwalkingfox at gmail.com

Also please stop by for awhile at our main blog posting.

Native American gifting tobacco (Herbs) to an elder?

Welcome to the visitor from Thunder Bay Ontario Canada

to my postings looking for information on why present tobacco to an elder?

Native American gifting tobacco to an elder?

How is tobacco wrapped when presenting to an elder

The answers out on the internet are long and most of them are human?

The question was asked by a person up north of the border and I am sure that many northern tribes will be answering.

In my tribal information, Tobacco (Kinnick, Kinnick), was the first plant gift from Creator (Grandfather).

Grandfather placed this gift with our mother, Mother Earth.

Many of our elders teach, lead ceremonies and events, so they use a lot of our tobacco.

One of our main teachings form our main teacher, Creator, was, is and will always be to teach.

From the first day that someone of our tribal members has a child, we are expected to be that child's teacher, no matter our age!

We are also expected to always respect our elders!

I laid the ground work so now to answer the question.

We gift tobacco to an elder because it is medicine and our elders are special people!

It is much easier for the young to pick and mix our tobacco (Kinnick, Kinick) then it is for many of our elders.

We wrap this gift in a red flower or cloth because this gift comes from our Creator by way of our mother, Mother Earth and her color is red.

Herbs are Tobacco, Sweet grass, Sage, Herbs and NOT Cigarettes!

Native American Herbs and Tobacco is still the number one question out on the Internet!

As with Native American names, one should never have to pay for any Sacred Herbs.

Herbs not previously blessed from Creator, are not yet Sacred.

Native American Tobacco is Kinnick~Kinnick, Sweet grass, or Sage.

You can always purchase non sacred Native American Tobacco ( Kinnick-Kinnick) on line if you trust the site, or you can purchase Kinnick-Kinnick at your local powwow gathering.

Please remember, there is nothing sacred about any chemical, they are all poison so, what you would be saying if gifting a cigarette as tobacco to this person would be, I do not think enough about you to give safe tobacco, I poison you!

My ancestors were simple common sense people.

Their tobacco was grown without chemicals, the ancestors did not need them!

Today our elders know that cigarettes cause cancer, even if they smoke, someone that they know and love has died a horrible death from this cancer.

Please do not insult them by an offering of a cancer causing cigarette.

Will you please use Kinnick~ Kinnick (herbs)?

If you do not know how to get a name or herbs that have been blessed correctly, never buy a name or herbs! Creator is watching!

Only Creator can Bless a name or herbs, or anything else for that matter.

Back before first contact Traditional Native American Tobacco was not ever used for smoking, Period!

This tobacco was much too strong for smoking!

The Europeans mixed chemicals into tobacco making it smooth enough to get hooked on!

The only exception to smoking our herbs was in our Friendship pipe, this would show a true interest about the making of friends, even then it was not inhaled!

Native American Tobacco has many uses however, all of these uses are for the good of the people, never for harm as with smoking!

How did native Americans clean peace pipes?

If this is at an Eastern Woodland American Native Ceremony, the pipe is never cleaned as a European would clean a pipe, a pipe keeper will either take the pipe out or pass it to a trusted student of the pipe, to Mother Earth and by way of our sacred ceremony, give the tobacco (Kinnick~ Kinnick) back to her, Mother Earth.

We have Friendship and Sacred pipes!

Akron "Ohi:yo" (Ohio)

Tobacco (Herbs)
Akron "Ohi:yo" (Ohio)
Welcome to the visitor from Akron Ohio

We, Tah and I, have had the honor of visiting a few Shawnee Villages in the past

One in
"Ohi:yo" (Ohio)
and
one in
(Pennsylvania)
come to mind.

Can you imagine the number of, so called,
"Non Recognized Shawnee Tribes?"
That are still in those two states,
not even counting Oklahoma.

What did they do paint themselves with invisible paint?

Maybe they thought that it was

"War Paint?"

Please keep in mind while you read our answers to this type of question.

We love, protect and respect our people and mostly the Elders and Ancestors.
Shawnee,
one of only two tribes
that never surrendered
to the invaders and never will.

Remember
if you do not kneel to the man,
you get treated like dirt under foot
and
swept under the rug
so to speak.

Well back to your visit

to one of many of our posting on

Native (Indian) Tobacco.

Tobacco (Herbs) as a Traditional Native American Gift

4/8/11

Yes

Our friends,
ever with the distance
between tribes, treat
"Blessed Tobacco,"
the same as our people.

Because tobacco seems to be one of the most asked question.

Please understand that when talking about
Tobacco
" Traditional Tobacco."

I write only as a traditionalist,
so tobacco

is

Kinnick - Kinnick (Herbs),

tobacco no one would ever enjoy smoking.
Herbs picked special by the
"Clan Mothers."

8/14/11

Tobacco as a gift.

The question being asked the most today is still about tobacco, so we, the Native Americans answering that question are still not answering it well enough?

Tobacco used by my ancestors, Traditional Native Americans from New England was not Cigarettes, it was, it is, and should always be herbs found or grown by the Tribal Clan Grandmother with help from the Tribal Clan Mothers.

These herbs are called Kinnick. Kinnick ( our native word for tobacco).

This tobacco is used for anything sacred like, prayer, ceremonies like naming, funeral's, weddings, powwows, gatherings, pot luck, paw, paus and so on., gifting, cleansing us and the area around us.

I have many blogs and websites about our tobacco however, if my answers leaves you with more questions please Email me at sachemuncas at centurylink.net ( It is written this way to spoil spammers spiders.

Just to name a few.

Welcome to Arvada, Colorado

Welcome to
our/my
visitor
from
Arvada, Colorado

Although time and distance will prove to be a hiccup
between our culture and ceremonies,

And

The culture and ceremonies of tribes around your area.

I personally wish to thank you for your question.

You see,
my post is in need of a few explanations.

The following is my way to help understand

(Tobacco),
in our culture.

Creator created the 'Tobacco Plant' as I am sure that you will agree,
'along with everything else'!

Man placed poison chemicals into tobacco
just to hook humans on their type of tobacco.

Therefore, with this knowledge fresh in our minds,
creator also created all herbs.

We in our area of Native American Country, mix herbs,
along with the herb tobacco,
into our

prayer pouches.

And

In our little corner of
Native American Country,
we believe that Creator created herbs
for the free use by humans.

Therefore, we use herbs in our ceremonies for free.

You replacing our herb is
in no way mandatory or expected.

However,
it is a way to gift an elder.

And

Last but by no means least, all prayers are for a blessing from our Creator to someone or something.

As always, on the way down from Creator the blessings also are a blessing to the person making the prayer request!

This is the old post.
Native American Wedding Ceremony (Traditional)

6/9/11

"Do you offer tobacco at a Native American wedding?

Yes!

A good Traditional Spiritual Leader uses a lot of tobacco

(Kinnick ~ Kinnick)

And

Charges you nothing for the service.

So yes, a good traditional spiritual leader is always in need of the herbs

(Kinnick ~ Kinnick).

One should also remember that a tobacco gift given the correct way is a

Prayer for a blessing to the person receiving your gift, so you can gift this

herb anytime that you feel the need to.

Because a traditional Native American is always giving out this herb.

Receiving this herb is a blessing to the pocket.

Our gift given tobacco is

Kinnick~ Kinnick!"
