Florida kids help rescue bald eagle found with fishing hook piercing its beak | Fox News
One can only hope this bald eagle’s story foreshadows better times for America. A couple of concerned kids in Florida are being credited with helping to save the life of an injured bald eagle they found wrapped in a fishing line, with a fishing hook pierced through its beak.
Pasco County Fire Rescue, in Land o’ Lakes, shared the story to Facebook on Thursday, after the two children brought the injured eagle to the station looking for help.
When the children brought the eagle to the fire station, it was dehydrated, underweight, and its beak was pierced with a fishing hook. (Pasco County Fire Rescue)
"After closer examination, firefighters realized that the eagle was underweight, a fishing hook was through his beak, and a fishing line was wrapped around his wing," explained Pasco County Fire Rescue in Thursday’s post.
MAN RESCUES BALD EAGLE FROM DROWNING IN LAKE, AMAZING VIDEO SHOWS
Realizing that the animal could not fly or eat in its current condition, firefighters contacted Owl’s Nest Sanctuary — a nearby wildlife rescue and rehabilitation organization in Odessa — for assistance. A volunteer named Dianne arrived soon after, and determined that the severely dehydrated eagle was likely tangled in the fishing line for days. The animal was then transported back to the sanctuary, where the fishing hook was removed.
After sharing the story to Facebook, users heaped praise on everyone who helped save the injured eagle.
"Way to go kids!!! They should be very proud for helping this beautiful bird!" wrote one of Pasco County Fire’s Facebook followers.
"Love Owl’s Nest! And the kids who knew where to go for help, and our firefighters!" said another.
At least one commenter, however, urged her fellow nature-lovers to help prevent such potentially fatal injuries.
"Kudos to those kids," she wrote. "And a reminder to all the FISHERMAN/WOMAN out there.... Put the trash in the can."

Welcome to

We have a few
sites/blogs on this if you are interested.
First as explained
to our friends in Tacoma, Washington about
”Our Wedding
Ceremony (Traditional)”
There are around 1330
miles as the crow flies
from Minnetonka, Minnesota to our little village
over on the east coast.
So I am sure
that you understand that culture and ceremonies may differ some?
Just as this is
true, customs like tobacco and what is and is not ‘Sacred’ may also?
I love your photo on
your website
because to our people, all birds of Pay are Sacred
and the Owl to our
people is no exception!
Our tobacco,
although included is,
Kinnick-Kinnick, a
mix of many herbs along with tobacco, never a cigarette!
We firmly believe
that the use of cigarettes in any of our ceremony,
especially a 'Scared
Ceremony' is an insult to your Creator!
While it is true
that Creator allowed ‘creation’ to make chemicals,
it is also true that
because humans are allowed our own free will,
one can also jump
off of the 10th avenue Bridge if so inclined?
Either way each will
shorten your life!

06/09/2011
Before
we start please remember the distance from Tacoma to our little village over on
the east coast?
2,939
miles the way a crow flies.
That
said my friend; you will agree that culture and ceremonies, for the most part,
will differ.
I
noticed while rechecking the site that you came to visit and you should know,
because of the distance tobacco (Kinnick-Kinnick) will also change.
So,
you can use herbs grown in and around ‘Tacoma, Washington’ and of course FREE!
Going
to a store or trusting someone to get it for you is ‘iffy’ at best!
We
firmly believe that the use of cigarettes in any ceremony especially a 'Scared
Ceremony' is an insult to your Creator!
Yes it is true that
Creator allowed creation to make chemicals,
it is also true that
because humans are
allowed our own will,
one can also jump
off of the New Tacoma Narrows Bridge if
so inclined?

For instance, our Tobacco is called

over in
Native American Country.
I believe,
been
quite some time since our last visit,
that tribes over in
Indian Country use Sage, Sweet-Grass
and Tobacco in their
ceremonies?
You are welcome to
use
if needed,
our information on this post.
Your state
is also
the 2nd poorest
republican state

Why is this?

There are thousands
of tribes, some calling themselves nations, from the Atlantic to the Pacific
Ocean.
You wrote to our
people in
'Native American
Country' so the posts and my answers are about our people.
The first
(Native American
Wedding Ceremony)
Is self explanatory
just as long as my readers understand,
'Our ancestors never
used chemicals and for sure, not in our ceremonies' so neither do we!
And
Kinnick~ Kinnick
just means,
Herbs from around
the
area of that ceremony, picked with a prayer for
a blessing from Creator
by
our Clan Mothers.
The 2nd question,
(Is a Friendship pipe used at a Wedding ceremony)?
Please understand,
we do not have a
'Peace Pipe,
Our ancestors were
under attack long before tribes west of the Mississippi river
knew about the
invaders from our East coast.
We have Sacred and
friendship pipes,
both with Kinnick~ Kinnick
picked without chemicals.
If you have more
questions please ask?

Do you offer tobacco
at a Native American wedding?
Yes only in your
area as in herb
before chemicals of any kind is added!
Like something like
and
A good Traditional
Spiritual Leader uses a lot of tobacco we call
(Kinnick ~ Kinnick)
because it is always organic herbs, ALWAYS!
And
Charges you nothing
for the service.
So, if you wish you
can gift these herbs.
Need more info?
And
Remember; herbs are
'native organic herbs' that grow in your area from 'Creator' by way of 'Mother
Earth' to 'you' for free and should be gifted 'For Free'!

Smudging to me is a
talk (Prayer), with Kiehtan (Creator) because after all friends, ‘nothing gets
done’ without the blessing from Kiehtan (Creator)!
One of my mentors a
regular and an elder of my grandfather meetings was Chief Hatchet a Ramapough
Wappinger from Carmel New York, not of the people in New Jersey although we did
meet them a few time on the powwow trail.
Up until 1947 our
Smudging was done with herbs called Kinnick-kinnick,
no need of a fire.
My first
"Keeper of the Fire" was also with Elder Chief Hatchet as my teacher
(1950).

Posting
like this one keeps coming up on my tracker so I would like to keep with my
answering.
Remember
that you are as far west as you can get without getting your feet wet and I am
as far east as I can get without getting my feet wet, with thousands of tribes
in-between.
However,
you did come to my tracker looking for an answer so I will give the best answer
as it applies to our people over on the East coast.
First
if I may, the tribes over on this coast did not use Sage or sweet grass until a
visit to tribes over in the plains.
Our
ancestors use herbs called (Kinnick-Kinnick).

One would have to

Welcome to our visitor from Kansas City
Welcome
Kansas City, Kansas
Mind you it is over
1300 miles from Kansas City to Uncasvillage and about 550 miles to where our
people started from many years ago in the Great Lakes area.
I like to write this
every once in a while to remind all of my followers about the distance between
our people and yours and that, at the time of our ancestors beginning,
instructions from Creator as to culture and ceremonies, travel was slow at the
very least.
Point being
One possible reason
for a difference in culture and ceremonies.
For instance.
We use a group of
herbs we call Kinnick Kinnick, you might call tobacco, tobacco is one of the
herbs in our Kinnick Kinnick.
Everything dealing
with our Kinnick Kinnick, it is in the left hand.
Why the left hand?
We believe that it
is the closest to our heart.
Left hander Native
Americans were not necessarily haft handed

Thank you to

You both
reminded me
of a few facts about our people,
ours and some of yours.
According to
my elders now ancestors and some records out on the internet for all to read.
While I was
growing up in Uncasvillage and learning from elders throughout Northern Native
American Country, back when our ancestors were being abused
(putting it
politely)!
Many of our
people escaped out west and many escaped north to and around Quebec Canada!
Red is the
color of all blood of the heart and all male, female, races, religion, sexual
orientation and even the politicians in government pump ‘Red Blood’!
This is why
our military go to war, to protect our people of Red Blood!
Cigarettes
cause Cancer!
Our ancestors
used Herbs (Kinnick-Kinnick), No poison cigarettes!
All Smudging
in the ceremonies of our ancestors were and still are a prayer to Creator, at

Welcome Lakeland, Florida (Medicine Man)
Welcome
Lakeland, Florida,
and
thank you for your interest
in
this very important
subject!
The mass
confusion about the culture of the people in
Native American Country
(our
people in and around the New England Area),
is simple to explain if you think
history?
History, at
least back to my birth (the 1940’s), was a time when Euro-Americans were still
calling 'Our People ‘Savages.’
Simple
because we did not understand a religion that approved of murder and may-hem?
Yet another
subject if you dare to ask!
Ceremonies,
all ceremonies, were blessing from our Creator
(God)
and
Because of this
Creator Blessings were not taken lightly.
Leaders of
each ceremony, after the ‘Head Clan Mother and her Shechaim' male or female, as in this subject, Medicine
person would take
many days, weeks and/or month waiting for word in prayer from
Creator.
This leader
was know as a (chief) working under the supervision of the Head Clan Mother.
A (chief) of
the Native American Country People
cannot except a thing for the service they
accomplish!
A (Medicine
Man/Medicine Woman),
should never be seen in public in his or her Regalia
and/or going about the Creators Business!
In today's
world one will often see someone in makeshift clothing patting themselves
on
the back and 'emesis out nonsense' while 'accomplishing nothing' and 'seeking your
money'!
Medicine man or
Shaman stories?
10/25/2011
Before their
passing, my ancestors made me promise to teach our past, present and future for
as long as I can.
BFC (Before Casinos)
one would never find a Medicine-Woman or a Medicine-Man dressed in the 'New Are
costumes'!
For sure you would
never catch one in native regalia while doing the Creators business.
So, an Eastern
Woodland American Native person (Medicine-man, Medicine-woman) is NEVER a show
off.
Because he and she
must answer to creator if they do.
In today's world it
seems to be a habit for wannabes to find an audience and look foolish trying to
be a native?
A Medicine-Woman is
a collector of particular group of herbs (Kinnick, Kinnick) for the
Medicine-Man.
A Medicine Man uses
these particular groups of herbs to do many things being directed to do by
Kiehtan's (Creator) blessing.
Before first
contact, a time when we were overrun by Europeans and their beliefs, there were
no Shamans, Witches or War-Lochs among my people.
There are shaman in
India and many countries around the world; this may be what is bringing on the
confusion because now they are also in 'New age Indian Nations'?
Our medicine people,
men and women, are not actors or politicians, witches, war lochs, or magicians,
they are just people doing the Creators work the only way that creator wishes
the work to be done, with respect to the person or persons involved.
